Chartered in 1832, St. Timothy's School is a college preparatory boarding and day school, preparing girls to assume positions of leadership with moral focus and courage, intellectual honesty and acumen, and the confidence to act responsibly and ethically in all areas of their lives.

Traditions

St. Timothy’s is a school grounded in traditions. The identity of the school is expressed through such established rituals as the raucous Brownie-Spider games and the secret ringing ceremony when the Fives receive their class rings.

As a school attuned to a changing world, we prepare future leaders to help shape that change. That is why living in a diverse boarding school community is so critical at this age. We want our students to appreciate their own culture, history, and religion, but we also want them to understand others.

IB: A World Class Curriculum

St. Timothy’s is an all-girls secondary residential International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. We provide a comprehensive and flexible academic program in a supportive, richly resourced, and beautiful setting.

 

Ideal setting and Location

A major seaport on the eastern seaboard, Baltimore, Maryland, which flows into the Chesapeake Bay, is attractive for its many marine activities.  Just 60 minutes from Washington, D.C., and 2.5 hours by train to New York City, Baltimore is also a top regional destination and the home of one of America’s foremost educational and medical institutions, Johns Hopkins University.
