Financial Aid FAQ

List of 3 frequently asked questions.

  • What if tax information is not available at the time of the application?

St. Timothy’s requires families to submit 2022 Federal Income Tax returns to SSS. Please estimate your 2022 tax information to complete the PFS form. Initial computations will be done using your estimated figures. Final action on a family’s financial aid award will not be completed until the 2022 Federal Income Tax returns have been submitted to SSS. Initial computations will be adjusted up or down if necessary to reflect the information contained in the 2022 returns.
  • What if parents are divorced, separated, or have never married?

The philosophy at St. Timothy’s is that both parents have an obligation to pay for the educational expenses of their children. In order for a family’s financial aid application to be complete, both living parents must submit financial aid information.

In order to waive the pfs requirement for a non-custodial parent, information must be submitted from a doctor, lawyer, clergy member, or school counselor clearly stating the non-custodial parent’s personal and financial relationship with the applicant.

If either parent is remarried, the step-parent must submit financial information, but the financial aid committee will bear in mind the obligation of that step-parent to his or her own natural children.
  • Who is eligible to apply for financial aid?

All families are eligible to apply for financial aid. While financial aid is awarded based on need, scholarships may also be awarded at the discretion of the School.
Scholarship funds recognize meritorious academic performance and contribute to the School’s longstanding culture of academic excellence.
