St Tim's Slips Past IND

Visiting Institute of Notre Dame scored first, but St Tim's strong passing game proved to be the difference as the White and Blue came out on top 2-1.  Down 0-1 on a fast break goal by IND, Junior Captain Olivia Palermo drove to the top of the circle on a restart, eluded one defender and sent a hard strike toward goal.  The ball ricocheted off a defenders foot and skipped across the goal line for her team leading 5th goal of the season to tie the match.

The second half was a back and forth affair with St Tim's winning a penalty corner in the 7th minute.  Senior Cas Colmenar inserted the ball to Palermo who sent a pass low to classmate Symone Welch who redirected it into the goal for the eventual game-winner.  Sophomore Mia Hembling made 4 saves in the win and Senior Captain Gwen Van Doren had a defensive save in the first half.
