Sophomore Sophie Keeble was named IAAM Athlete of the Week Sophie won her No. 1 singles match, 6-0, 6-0, against John Carroll to give St. Tim's its first win of the season. St. Tim's coach Rick Whiting said that although Sophie is playing at only 75 percent of her ability as she recovers from a severe knee injury, she is still a force on the court. While Sophie said that she is fond of her backhand, Whiting has great admiration for the boarding student from Nashville's forehand. "She can just crush that forehand," he said. Obviously, her teammates also hold her in high esteem, voting her a team captain — a rarity for a sophomore. "I am really honored," she said. "And it makes me want to work even harder."
