SAT Subject Tests

Formerly called the SAT II or Achievement Tests, each subject-specific test is an hour long.
Most highly selective colleges or specific programs of admissions (such as an honors program or several engineering programs, for example) will require students to take two subject tests, and as many as three subject tests can be taken on the same test date. Subject tests should be taken at the end of junior year (in May or June) or at the beginning of senior year (in October). Most schools will NOT require subject tests for their applications if they have taken the ACT+ Writing test.

Parents or students should contact with the Director of College Counseling between January and April of junior year if they have questions about whether they should take subject tests and which tests to sign up for.
