Meet 3 vs @Catholic and Gerstell

Fresh from a season competing in the B league, Catholic High returned to the C league and once again picked up the mantle of being a C league power house. Knowing Catholic would be tough to beat, the ladies of St. Tim's focused on Gerstell, creating race plans to go after each of their runners, and pull out their first win of the season. If all of the St. Tim's runners hit their goal times, then the win would be easy. However, the weather was not willing to let things transpire without difficulty. The heat and intense sun out in the open initially slowed down the St. Tim's cross country team. In addition, Gerstell brought their A game, going out fast and taking the lead. After 2 miles, St. Tim's closed the gap, but Gerstell was still in the lead by one point. With shouts from Coach Hermano to "Go now!" and "Don't wait!", Lucia Lu accelerated to pass a Gerstell runner and swing the score in favor of St. Tim's. The rest of the team did their job and refused to let anyone pass them in the closing minutes of the race, locking in the score and bringing home a win for St. Tim's!
