On Thursday, St. Tim's hosted the Obezags of Key School. Key School lost the coin toss, giving St. Tim's first serve. St. Tim's took an early 7-1 lead in the first set thanks to freshman libero Madonna Akabuno serving 6 in a row. Senior Hannah Mays pushed that lead to 16-3 by serving an additional 5 in a row with 3 aces. Junior Bri Rider closed out the set serving the final four points to bring the score to 25-6.
In the second set, St. Tim's was able to win the serve back. Akabuno served 11 in a row to give St. Tim's a 12-7 lead. Sophomore Ariyana Crewe served 4 aces in a row to bring the lead to 17-10. Junior Leena Feda closed out the set with 6 in a row to bring the score to 25-12.
In the final set, Junior Anna Trybus served six in a row to give St. Tim's an early 17-6 lead. Senior Melisa Kocak closed out the set serving 5 in a row to bring the score to 25-8.
St. Tim's will have its next league match on Tuesday, at home versus Oldfields School at 5:30 PM.
