Varsity Volleyball wins on senior night

St. Timothy's 3, Garrison Forrest 1
25-19, 15-15, 21-25, 25-13
On Tuesday, St. Timothy's School hosted the Grizzlies of Garrison Forrest School for the final conference game of the season. GFS lost the coin toss, and STT selected to serve first.

St. Tim’s was slow to wake up in the first set, allowing the Grizzlies to take a 7-1 lead. St. Tim’s Ari Crewe then stepped up to serve and served 13 in a row to take a 15-7 lead. St. Tim’s maintained the lead throughout the set, closing out the first set 25-19.

In the second set, St. Tim’s took an earlier lead 7-1 thanks to Crewe’s serving. St. Tim’s continued to serve solidly with each player putting a couple points on the scoreboard. St. Tim’s won the second set 25-15.

In the third set, St. Tim’s started off well, but allowed Garrison to tie up the match 14-14. The defense seemed to want to rest on their laurels, and the Grizzlies took advantage, eventually pulling ahead 24-20. St. Tim’s could not push through with the final points and they lost the third set 21-25.

In the fourth set, St. Tim’s meant business. Crewe served 6 in a row to give the team a 7-0 lead. Senior Hannah Mays added 5 to that, increasing the lead to 12-2. St. Tim’s kept the lead throughout the set and was able to win the fourth set 25-13.

St. Timothy's finished the match 3-1 and then honored their seniors. Their last regular season game, a non-conference exhibition match, will be on Wednesday at Roland Park Country School at 5PM.
