St Tim's Runs Past Oldfields

M. Callahan
The St Timothy's Field Hockey team used a strong passing game to beat Oldfields 3-1 on Tuesday.  Junior Captain Olivia Palermo got St Tim's on the board first with an unassisted play, carrying the ball in from the 25 yard line, beating a defender and sending a long strike to the left corner of the goal.

Oldfields would answer with a goal of their own 10 minutes later to tie the game at 1-1.  Sophomore Savanna Hornstein would score her first career goal with 11 minutes left in the first half with what would prove to be the game winning goal.  Palermo would add her second of the game 9 minutes into the second half on a corner.  Junior Captain Symone Welch sent the ball in and Palermo again found the corner of the goal from the top of the circle.

Senior defender Margaux Seitz had a strong game for St Timothy's and Goalkeeper Mia Hembling finished with 3 saves on the day.
