On Tuesday, St. Timothy's School traveled to take on the Saints of Concordia Prep. St. Tim's had a small squad that day due to numerous injuries, which alas impacted the endurance and efforts of the whole team.
St. Tim's came out strong in the first set thanks to a strong run of serves by freshman Madonna Akabuno. St. Tim's won the first set 25-20. The second set was a bit of a closer match, with St. Tim's fighting to catch up after a 10 point deficit. Akabuno's serves again helped St. Tim's to get back in the game and solidify a 26-24 win.
In the third set, St. Tim's lost its momentum about halfway through and allowed Concordia's final server to serve 5 in a row for the win. In the fourth set, St. Tim's could not seem to find its footing. They again lost 25-18.
In the tiebreaker, St. Tim's could not seem to gain any momentum and they lost to Concordia 15-8. Overall, the team fought hard but was bested by Concordia.
St. Tim's has its next conference came on 10/1 at Glenelg Country School.
