Field Hockey Defeats Catholic High

St Timothy's Field Hockey won it's second game of the week by defeating Catholic High at home 2-0.  Junior Captain Olivia Palermo got St Tim's on the board first with just over 7 minutes to go in the first half.  After several shots by the St Tim's attack and saves by the Catholic goalkeeper a long rebound found it's way to Palermo's stick, she sent a quick shot to the back of the goal for a 1-0 lead.  St Tim's struck again just over 6 minutes into the second half after a fast break opportunity was thwarted by the Catholic defense, Sophomore Jasmine Johnson collected her own rebound and put the ball in the far corner of the goal to give St TIm's a 2-0 cushion.  The defense held strong for the remainder of the game with Seniors Cas Colmenar and Margauz Seitz leading the way with timely tackles and great passing in transition.  Sophomore Mia Hembling made 5 saves in the win while Senior Captain Gwen Van Doren has a defensive save to help preserve the shutout.
