Riding Participates in MHSA Regional Program Finals and IEA Show Hosted by Good Council Equestrian
The Maryland Horse Show Association (MHSA) hosted their Regionals Program Finals this weekend. Representing St. Timothy's were Beatrice Harley on her horse, Gimlet and Emma Hyde on her horse, Saumur. Bea qualified through consistent success throughout the season in the Junior Equitation division, and Gimlet qualified for the Children's Hunter division. Emma qualified in the Pre-Children's Medal class.
Emma's horse rose to the occasion and earned her the Pre-Children's Medal Championship. The class consisted of a jumping phase, a flat phase and a work-off. Emma bested 19 competitors for the title. Emma will be attending the USHJA Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Finals next weekend at the University of Findlay as a finalist. In the Junior Equitation division, Bea turned in a quality performance that earned her 5th place out of 19 competitors. In the afternoon, Gimlet was 3rd, 5th and 7th in the Children's Hunters.
A few St. Tim's riders attended a show this weekend hosted by Good Council Equestrian Team. Vivian Payne and Dara Bage both competed in the JV Novice division. Vivian placed 3rd over fences and 6th on the flat, while Dara placed 6th over fences and 4th on the flat. Kensi Veatch and Maryn Kristof competed in the JV Beginner class, Kensi placed 3rd and Maryn placed 2nd.
